Evert E. Slone, age 63, of Warsaw, Indiana passed away in his residence on March 19, 2011 at 8:13 am. Evert was born on September 25, 1947 in Martin, Kentucky to Lamon and Anniebell (Robinson) Slone. He was a 60-year Warsaw, In resident. On June 22, 2002 in Warsaw he married Margaret Ann “Marge” Wood. Everet was employed for 29 years at Zimmer, Inc of Warsaw as a QA Inspector. He was a member of New Hope Free Will Baptist Church of Warsaw. A United States Army Veteran, he served from 1966 to 1969 in Vietnam and Germany with 670th Transportation Battalion, 1st Support Unit. In addition, he served in the United States Army Reserve from 1969 to 1972 and was honorably discharged as an SP 5 Technical Sergeant on August 31, 1972. He was a member 0f the Warsaw American Legion Post #49 and was the 2010 to 2011 Commander. Furthermore he served Post #49 as Past Vice-Commander and Honor Guard Member and past 408 Member. Also, he was a Lifetime Member of Veterans of Foreign Warsaw Post # 1126 of Warsaw, a Lifetime Member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter #15 and thee Warsaw Moose Lodge #1423. He is survived by his Wife Margaret Ann “Marge” Slone of Warsaw, IN, sons Kyle Evert Slone of Canton, Ga and Aaron Angelo (spouse Janee “Nikki”) Slone of Warsaw, IN; mother Anniebell Slone of Warsaw, IN; brother Randy (spouse Jessie) Slone of Warsaw, IN; step-children Kelly (spouse John) Slone of Warsaw, IN and Craig (Spouse Kathy) Sierk of Fort Wayne, IN; grandchildren Austin Jacob Slone; Landon Carter Slone and one expected grandson due May 22, 2011; and step-grandchildren Kallie Shephard and John Shepard, Jr.. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at 11:00 am at New Hope Freewill Baptist Church 3651 N. Detroit St Warsaw, IN at 11:00 am. Pastors David Cripe and William Whitaker will officiate the services. Calling hours are scheduled tuesday from 2-4 pm and 6-8pm at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, IN. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery; Warsaw, IN with full Military Honors conducted by the Warsaw American Legion Post #49 and Veteran of Foreign Warsaw Post #1126.
