Evelyn June Lowman

Evelyn June Ferree Lowman age 91, passed away on February 19, 2013at 4:00 p.m. very peacefully in her home in Warsaw, IN She was born September 2 1921 in Fulton County Indiana, to Alfred and Goldie Smoker Ferree. On Sept. 2, 1941 She married Glenn N. Lowman in Wanatchee, Washington. He died November 1972.She graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1939.Living most of her life in Kosciusko County. Her and husband Glenn ran Lowman’s Corner service station north of Akron Indiana for 31 years together.She loved the Indy 500 races and only missed 2 until 2012 since they restarted after WWII. Her first trip was when she was 16 with her parents, she rode in the rumble seat of a Hudson automobile. She also enjoyed traveling around the country with an Airstream Travel Trailer, belonging to the Wally Byam Caravan Club for many years. Surviving are a Daughter Diane K. (and spouse Paul Schipper) Kokomo, a son Tim E Lowman (and spouse C. Marie) Warsaw ; 4 grandchildren Aaron Schipper (Peru, IN), Evan Schipper (and spouse Dina) Avon, IN, David Lowman (Warsaw, IN) Wendy Lowman (Warsaw, IN). She had 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Husband Glenn and Great Grandson Jayden Lowman Entombment service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. Visitation and viewing will also be at Greenlawn Memorial Park 1 hour prior to the service.
