Eula P. Rust, 84 of North Manchester, Indiana, passed away at 6:30 pm, Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Peabody Retirement Center, North Manchester. On February 13, 1927, Eula was born to William and Blanche P. (Kern) Tinney in Weston, West Virginia. She married Wilbur L. “Rusty” Rust on December 28, 1968 in Brimfield, Indiana. She graduated from Weston High School in 1944. In 1974, she began work as a custodian for First United Methodist Church, Warsaw. Eula was also a member at First United Methodist Church, Warsaw. Eula was a loving, humble, gracious, kind and generous woman. She did not know a stranger and she had a gentle spirit that embraced all who came into contact with her. Her friends were too numerous to count because, to just simply know her was to love her. She loved the Lord and she loved her family with all of her heart and all her strength. She would say that her children were her greatest accomplishment, she was so proud. She is dearly loved and deeply respected by her family and she will be missed more than words could ever describe. The family’s great loss is heaven’s magnificent gain. She leaves behind a legacy of love and hope that will endure for many many years to come as there will always be “a light at the end of the tunnel.” Eula is survived by her husband, Wilbur L. “Rusty” Rust, Warsaw; two daughters, Karen (and spouse Don) Fuller, Syracuse and Penny Rust Hales, Warsaw; one son, Robert (and spouse Judy) Reed, Beaver Dam, Kentucky; daughter–in-law, Peggy (and spouse Sandy) Lindsey, Bourbon; six grandchildren, Melissa (and spouse William ) Bennett, Syracuse, Dan (and spouse Tammy) Reed-Lindsey, Columbia, Tennessee, Joe (and spouse Shaina) Reed–Lindsey, Longwood, Florida, Roberta (and spouse Michael) M., South Bend, Jon Etheridge, Marietta, Georgia and Madison Hales, Warsaw; seven great grandchildren, Justin and Katie Crosby and William and Ann Bennett all of Syracuse, Dillon, Mason and Brianna Lindsey, Columbia, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Reed; a son, David Reed; five sisters, Peggy Cross, Eva Taylor, Mary Huggins, Madeline Albaugh and Evelyn Fisher and three brothers, Charles Tinney, Robert Tinney and Frankie Tinney. Memorial services will be at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 1:00 pm with Chaplain Sue Babovec of Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 11:00 – 1:00 pm Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the funeral chapel.
