Esther L. Berkey

Esther Louise Berkey, age 85, of Warsaw, IN passed away Friday September 2, 2011at 12:10 am in Heritage Manor Minster, OH. She was born October 19, 1925 in Milford, IN to Perry and Bessie E. (Price) Matthews. She was a lifetime Kosciusko County, IN resident. On March 15, 1947 in Milford, IN she was united in marriage to John Berkey. John preceded her April 7, 1997. Esther was employed by Kroger’s of Warsaw as Clerk for 25 years retiring in 1984. She was a graduate of Milford High School and International Business College. Her memberships include Warsaw Wesleyan Church, charter member Eight –Square Homemakers Club, Neighbor Gals, American Legion Auxiliary Post #49, Senior Citizens Club and Classic Lakeland Dance. She is survived by a son Jay M. (spouse Debbie) Berkey of Minster, OH, granddaughters Rebecca (spouse Tim) Kuether of Fort Loramie, OH;Jaianne (spouse Todd) Unrast of Maria Stein, OH; grandson John D. Berkey of Fort Loramie, OH and great-grandchildren Rylee, Colten and Wyatt Unrast; Adam and Grace Kuether and Gavin Berkey. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 1:00 pm in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel Warsaw, IN. Calling hours will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Milford Cemetery Milford, IN. Pastor Gale Janofski will officiate the services.
