Ernest Lindley Hauth, 95, of Warsaw, IN, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2013, at Lutheran Life Villages-Pine Valley; Fort Wayne, IN. He was born on March 25, 1918, in Marion, IN, to Roy and Thelma (Dunn) Hauth. A long-life resident of Kosciusko County, Ernie married Merl Rife on March 24, 1940, in Warsaw. In addition to being a farmer, and a volunteer fireman for the Warsaw Fire Department, he was employed by Zimmer, Warsaw License Branch manager, Pre-form Milk Cartons, Playtime Corporation, and Warsaw Plating Works. While on the Wayne Township Advisory Board, he was involved in the consolidation of the county schools to the Warsaw Community Schools, as well as their expansion. Ernie is survived by his wife of 73 years, Merl; daughter, Barbara Funnell, Fort Wayne; son, E. Max (Cindy) Hauth, Lakeland, FL.; brothers, Roy Hauth and Austin Hauth, Warsaw; sister, Ruth Ann Neff, Indianapolis; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Taylor, and brothers, Ralph, George, and William Bill Hauth. A memorial service will be at a later date. Arrangements are entrust to McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.
