Elmer Albert Schwartz Jr., 70, of Warsaw, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly at Parkview Whitley Hospital.
Elmer was born to his loving parents Elmer Schwartz Sr and Katherine Dineen, on November 21, 1954, in Warsaw, Indiana.
After attending high school, he went on to be a laborer for an RV manufacturing company. He attained his CDL and drove a truck for many years. He was known as a “Jack of all trades”, and up until his untimely death he was self-employed and worked as a handy man for many in the community.
Elmer attended World of Truth in Milford, Indiana for many years. He was a member of the American Legion Riders Post #154 in Nappanee, attending many of their poker runs and motorcycles rides for charity. If the sun was shining, he would be riding and enjoying his next adventure. He also was a member of the Son of the American Legion Post #49 in Warsaw.
He was an avid fan of racing and had enjoyed the sport over many years. He raced at the New Paris Speedway, the Plymouth Speedway, and currently was racing at Rusell’s M40 Racetrack in Michigan. He also enjoyed running lights for local bands, during their concerts.
Elmer also enjoyed reuniting with his grade school buddies from the Atwood Greyhounds where they would meet at any given restaurant for breakfast.
He loved any and all animals, especially his beloved cats, LeRoy and Moe.
Elmer Is survived by his son Joseph (Kristina Wilson) Schwartz of Sebring, Florida; his loving companion, Julie Golden of Goshen, Indiana; two daughters, Ann Hasse of Barbee Lake, Indiana, and Suzie (Scott) Farney of Wakarusa, Indiana; brother, Robert Reneer of Orlando, Florida, several wonderful nieces and nephews, as well as his beloved cats.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
A celebration of life with be determined at a later date.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels to assist with funeral expenses.
