Elinor 'Joan' Dobbins, 84, of Warsaw, Indiana, died on 3/5/2010 at 12:50 pm at Kosciusko Community Hospital Warsaw, Indiana. She was born on January 30, 1926 in Warsaw, Indiana. Joan was born to Lloyd O. Yates and Delta Dot (Jefferies) Yates. She was a graduate of Leesburg High School. Her first job was working for the Winona Lake Railroad and later at the county clerks office. Over her lifetime she was a Red Cross Gray Lady and she sang in the County Womens Chorus. She was a member of the Warsaw First Brethren Church where she had been a Sunday School teacher, VBS teacher, in charge of the church nursery, member of WMS and sang in the choir. She is survived by one son Mike Dobbins and his life partner Daryl Keith. She was preceded in death by her sister Betty Ellen Schaulis. Pastor Bill Shipman of the First Brethren Church of Warsaw, IN. will officiate the services. Services will be held at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel - Warsaw, IN on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 10:00 am. Calling hours will be 4-8 pm on Wednesday, March 10, 2010. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery - Warsaw, IN. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel - Warsaw, IN is in charge of arrangements.
