Edwin S. Purrington Edwin S. Purrington, age 93, of Warsaw, Indiana passed away Monday November 5, 2012 at 6:42 AM in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. He was born December 16, 1918, in Chicago Ill to Franklin L. and Ruth (Stedman) Purrington. He was a resident of Warsaw, Indiana since 1977. Edwin was a volunteer fireman for Winona Lake and served a Fire Chief. Edwin was the Director of Winona School of Photography, Served as Town Manager of Winona Lake along with being the Building Inspector for the community. Edwin also was manager of the Ford Motor Company Photography Department and worked for Life Magazine as a photographer. Edwin served in the US Navy as a Chief Petty Officer during WWII as a Photographer in the Pacific Theater in the Photography Unit. Edwin attended Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Edwin is survived by his wife Barbara Shelton - Purrington of Warsaw, Indiana3 sons Edwin (and spouse Shirley) Purrington Jr. of Fort Worth Tx., James (and spouse Sandy) Purrington of Whitmore Lake MI., and Frank Purrington of Dearborn, MI.; a Step-son Jeffrey J. (and spouse Cynthia) Shelton of Warsaw, IN.; a Step-daughter Cynthia B. (and spouse Terry) Walsh of Conroe,TX.; 15 Grandchildren, and 15 Great grandchildren; and 1 brother Franklin L Purrington of Shingletown, CA. Edwin is preceded in death by his parents and 2 step children. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, November 9, 2012 at 12:00 PM at the Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church Warsaw, Indiana with Pastor Erik Ohman officiating and Military Honors at a later date. Calling hours are scheduled for Friday, November 9, 2012 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the church prior to the Memorial Service. Interment will be at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery Warsaw, Indiana.
