Edward Owens, age 76, of Claypool passed away on April 12, 2012 at 6:35 AM in Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City. He was born July 29, 1935 in Prestonsburg, KY to Amos and Rosie (Howard) Owens. He married Zula Faye Minnix on December 7, 1957. Moving to Silver Lake in 1950 then living most of his life in Pierceton, moving to Claypool in 1997.Edward retired from Spartech Corporation in 2000 as a Forklift Driver after 33 years with the company. He was a member of Warsaw Family Worship Center, WarsawHe is survived by his wife Zula Owens of Claypool; 1 daughter Hazel (and spouse Tony) McKenzie of Claypool; 1 son Anthony (and spouse Kathy) Owens of Warsaw; 4 sisters Norma (and spouse Bill) Meade, Susie (and spouse Don) Murphy both of South Whitley, Bonnie (and spouse Larry) Shepherd and Centha McKenzie both of North Manchester. 3 brothers Earmen (and spouse Ivy) Owens of Gainesville, GA, Earl (and spouse Kathy) Owens of Tacoma, WA and Ellis (and spouse Dee) Owens of Alexandria, IN. 7 grandchildren A.J., Austin, Michaela McKenzie all of Claypool, Nikkole, Brandy Bryce and Amanda Owens all of Warsaw. 1 great granddaughter Emma Colleen McKenzie.He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters Edward enjoyed watching his grandkids playing sports, racing especially Dale Earnhardt, old westerns, wrestling and other activities including going out to eat. He love to play ball with his Boston Terrier- Capone (who survives) Service will be held on Tuesday April 17, 2012 at1:00 PM at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton, IN.Calling hours will be on Monday April 16, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Mchatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton. Pastor William Whitaker (Warsaw Family Worship Center) will officiate the services.Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton, IN. Memorial Contributions are toParkview Hospice, 1260 E.
