Dorothy Jane 'Dot' Nieter

Dorothy Jane “Dot” Nieter, age 81, of Winona Lake, Indiana passed away Sunday, July 10, 2011 in Mason Health Care and Rhabilitation Warsaw, Indiana. On May 29, 1930, Dorothy was born to Harold F. and Eva (Sriver) Haenes in South Bend, Indiana. She graduated from South Bend Riley High School in 1949. Dorothy married C. Fred Nieter on January 6, 1951. She worked as a bookkeeper for Paneling Center, New Albany, Indiana for 13 years, retiring in 1991. She was also a member of Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, C. Fred Nieter, Warsaw; 3 Sons, Gary (and spouse Bonnie) Nieter, Warsaw; Randy (and spouse Cindy) Nieter, Chesapeake, Virginia and Rod (and spouse Kim) Nieter, Memphis, Indiana. 7 grandchildren; Aaron Nieter, Warsaw; Jeremy Nieter, Warsaw; Tad Nieter, Warsaw; Brent Nieter, Chesapeake, Virginia; Lori McCollum, Roanoke, Virginia; Gregory Nieter, Memphis, Indiana and Morgan Nieter, Memphis, Indiana. 3 great grandchildren; Blake Nieter, Chespeake, Virginia; Alli Nieter, Chesepeake, Virginia and Rachel McCollum, Roanoke, Virginia. 1 niece and 4 nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Lester and Charles Haenes and 2 sisters, Rosemary Haenes and Edith Cofield and 1 niece. Funeral services will be held at Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Bruce Barlow officiating. Private interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Visitation hours will be at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. The family requests memorial contributions are to be made to Lovability Ministries, South Bend, Indiana.
