Doris worked for Dana Incorporated in Columbia City for 25 years, retiring in 2007. She was proud to teach her family a strong work ethic and to always be kind.
Known as a spicy red head, Doris was onery for sure. She was also loving and would give you the shirt off her back for family, friends or strangers. Doris loved family gatherings and whether you were coming or going she always said “You know I love ya”. She adored when her granddaughters aka her “cleaning crew” came to clean her home in Columbia City, and would make them take frequent breaks just to be able to chat all she could. Doris enjoyed her weekly shopping trips but also enjoyed very much being home. She would move to live her with her daughter in Warsaw and loved daily window watching of animals and watching her great-grandkids play.
Doris is dearly missed by her children: Gene W. (Lisa) Hyser Jr. of Columbia City, Thomas W. Hyser of Winona Lake, Tanya (Larry) Reynolds of Winona Lake and Misty (Shannon) Craft of Warsaw; step-children Melissa (Paul) Tarchala and Jennifer (Josh) Treat; 17 grandchildren: Doug Hyser, Jessica Hyser, Trenton (Cortnee) Hyser, Kyle (Breanna) Davis, Gwendolyn Hyser, Gavin (Hailey) Hyser, Trevor Hyser, Courtney Hammon, Desirae Coverstone, Tara (Nick) Meyers, Alisha (J.J.) She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Marilyn Fraizer, and ex-husbands Gene Hyser and Ray Jones.
