Doris Jean Konkle Palmer

Doris Jean Konkle Palmer, 83, Warsaw, Indiana passed away Wednesday September 7, 2016 at 5:10 a.m. at Grace Village Health Care, Winona Lake, Indiana. She was born on December 13, 1932 to Francis and Sylvia (Haws) Shafer in Warsaw. She was a lifetime resident of Warsaw and a homemaker. She was a member of the Eagle Lodge, Warsaw. Doris loved county music and the gospel singer, Daniel O’Donnell. Most of all she loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her cat “Tiny Tina” and her daughter’s dogs “Precious and Buddy”. She also was an avid fan of Dale Earnhardt JR. Doris is survived by her 6 of 7 children, Kim (spouse David) Mitchell of Claypool, Indiana, Penny (and spouse James) Blair, Patricia (and spouse Jay) Rice, Vickie Lambert all of Warsaw, Indiana, Laura (and spouse Robert) Dockery of New Bern, North Carolina, and Gary (and spouse Jennifer) Konkle of Leesburg, Indiana; 22 grandchildren, and 41 greatgrandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister, Gladys Armey, 4 brothers, Robert, Jack, Richard and Francis Shafer JR., A son Tom Konkle and a grandson, Joshua Blair. There will be a celebration of life for family and friends at the VFW Post 1126 on Saturday September 17, 2016 from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. Burial will be private at Oakwood Cemetery Warsaw, Indiana. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that the memorial contribution be made to Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County, P.O Box 1906, Warsaw, Indiana 46581-1906 Arrangements are entrusted to McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, Indiana.
