Doris J. Ramsey

Doris J. Ramsey, 83 of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 11:45 am on Friday, August 7, 2015 in her residence. She was born on June 30, 1932 in East Chicago, Indiana to Earl and Vera (Lengyel) Gray Sr. Doris was united in marriage to Eugene “Gene” Ramsey on April 22, 1950 in Gary, Indiana. He preceded her in death on October 24, 2006. She worked for Harvey’s Dime Store, Warsaw and then Tractor Supply, Warsaw. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and sewing. Doris is survived by her daughter, Diane Ramsey, Warsaw; her son, Howard Ramsey, Warsaw; her grandson, Adam (and spouse Lindy) Ramsey, Warsaw; her granddaughter, Amanda (and spouse Billy) Fairchild, Warsaw; six great grandchildren, Devin, Zacary, Emily, Kyan, Cameron and Kaitlyn. She is also survived by two sisters, Alberta (and spouse Tom) Schroeder, Bourbon, Gloria (and spouse Edward) Picotte, Crown Point; her brother, Donald (and spouse Carol) Gray, Highland; two sister-in-laws, Jana Gray, North Judson and Carol Gray, Highland; brother-in-law, Ronald J. (and spouse Carol) Ramsey, Florida. Doris is also preceded in death by her son, Steve E. Ramsey; two grandsons, Andrew S. Ramsey and Aric J. Ramsey; three sisters, Frances Bennett, Julia Bartolac and Dorothy O’Pachan; two brothers, Kenneth Gray, and Earl Gray Jr. and her sister-in-law, Loretta (Ramsey) Warner Blanton. A funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Thursday, August 13, 2015 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Chase “Jake” Warrix officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Visitation hours will be from 11:00 – 1:00 pm Thursday, August 13, 2015 in the funeral chapel.
