Doris J. Johnson

Doris Jean (Lester) Johnson, 95 passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014, after a short illness. She was born on October 4, 1918, in Battle Creek, Michigan to Rollo and Gladys (David) Lester. She resided in the Battle Creek area all her life and was a graduate of Lakeview High School in 1937. She married Tracy Johnson who preceded her in death on September 16, 2010. She retired from Clark Equipment Company in 1982, after 25 years of service. She enjoyed all sports, loved working in her flowers, sending cards for all occasions, working cross word puzzles and reading. She had done volunteer work serving at the Food Bank for Elderpac. Doris was a member of the Sonoma United Methodist Church, Clark Equipment Retirement Club and Clark Ladies Birthday Club. Doris is survived by her daughters, Jan (Joe) Callaghan of Warsaw, Indiana and Judith J. (Ken) Gallaway of Bloomington, Illinois; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Dale Lester and a sister, Aileen Messner. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
