Doris Elizabeth Moody, 87 of Warsaw, Indiana passed away on Monday October 3, 2016 at 5:40 a.m. in her residence after a short battle with mesothelioma. She was born on April 23, 1929 to Wilbur and Elizabeth (Mundy) Sturtevant at Somerset Hospital, Somerville, New Jersey. She graduated from Robert Morris Elementary School, Washington Junior High School, Bound Brook High School Bound Brook, New Jersey and Somerset Community College, Bridgewater Township, New Jersey earning an Associate Degree as an LPN in 1973. Doris was united in marriage on October 9, 1948 to William F. Moody Sr. in Martinsville, New Jersey. William passed away on February 11, 2001. Doris and her husband purchased a bungalow on Chapman Lake on Island Park, they vacationed every summer since 1989 until Doris moved from New Jersey to the Lake in 2003 after William passed away. She worked for Green Brook Regional Center in Green Brook, New Jersey as an LPN for 21 years from 1974 to 1995. She was an active person in her community, where ever she lived, at Martinsville Community Players Civic Theater, as a Waitress, an usher at the Wagon Wheel Theater and Volunteering at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Hospice, Big Brothers and Big Sisters. Upon retirement Bill and Doris traveled domestically to every state in the United States. She attended Calvary Baptist Church Oswego, Indiana. Some of Doris’s significant memories are the birth of her children, family reunions, family gatherings, many happy times with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved hours of playing cards with her friends, vacationing, gardening and camping. She was on a bowling league, loved country music, Chinese, Italian and Seafood. Her favorite verse was Psalms 23 and her favorite flower was a daisy. She had many dogs throughout her years, Spotse, Lady Jane, Brandy Wine, Candy and Madison “Maddy”. Doris is survived by her two daughters, Linda Susan Moody-Hine-Feger and spouse Craig Felger and Diana Lee Moody-Stull and spouse Thomas Stull both of Warsaw, Indiana and a son William F. (and spouse Pam) Moody Jr. of Oregon; and a brother, Richard (and spouse Denise) Sturtevant of Florida; 9 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, 3 sisters and 2 great grandsons. There will be a celebration of life at the Calvary Baptist Church, Oswego, Indiana on Saturday October 8, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Greg Harden officiating. Burial will be in Bound Brook Cemetery, Bound Brook, New Jersey.
