Dora Jane Engle

Dora Jane Engle (Chinworth), born Dec. 9. 1930 in Warsawto Robert L. and Lillie (McSherry) Chinworth, died on August 29, 2026, at the age of 95.

A life-long resident of the Warsaw area, she graduated from Warsaw High School in 1948. She married Earl Eugene “Gene” Engle on December 31, 1948.

She had worked at Red Comet Oil and later at Lake City Bank until her retirement in 1995.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years on December 19, 2006, and her son, Jay D. Engle on December 20, 2023.

She is survived by her son John (Amy) Engle, grandchildren Jared (Stacy) Engle, Jacob (Melissa) Engle, Jason (Kathy) Engle, Kathryn (Trevor) Chappelow, 9 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and sister, Elizabeth Ann Holt.

She enjoyed time with family and friends, sewing and hand crafts in support of the Beaman Home or hospital patients in need. She was well known for her delicious and specially decorated sugar cookies with several hundred distributed for every holiday and season.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 10:30 – 11:30 am at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw. A Celebration of Life and Hope with Pastor Jarod Osborne officiating will be held immediately afterward. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
