Donna J. Prater

Donna J. Prater, 73 of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 1:19 pm Thursday, June 9, 2016 in Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne. On April 28, 1943, she was born in Warsaw to Bert and Martha (Burgess) Hyde. A lifetime resident of Warsaw, Donna worked for Othy Inc., Warsaw where she retired after serving twenty five years with the company. She was a member of Living Hope Ministries, Warsaw. She had many activities which she enjoyed doing. She raced go-carts and liked going to Sprint Car Races. She loved Elvis Pressley, Mickey Mouse and watching old movies, especially Shirley Temple movies. Donna enjoyed playing Bingo, card games of all types and her retirement. Donna loved having the wind blow through her hair and the smell of fresh cut grass. Donna was a loving person and very honest. Donna is survived by two children, Nancy Prater, Warsaw and Robie (and spouse Alma) Prater, Barbee Area; three grandchildren, Heather (and spouse Graham) Rich Shertz, Gardner, Kansas, Travis Willoughby, Indianapolis and Chase Prater, Bremen; two sisters, JoEllen Hyde Senff, Syracuse and Esther Hyde Clevenger, Leesburg; one brother, Jerry Hyde, North Webster; six great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, JoAnn Hyde Rowe and one brother, Eddie Hyde. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 in Living Hope Ministries, Warsaw with Pastor Wedstel Shepherd officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation hours will be from 4:00 – 8:00 pm Monday, June 13, 2016 and also from 10:00 am – 12:00 noon Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Living Hope Ministries, Warsaw. Memorial contributions may be made to the Donna J. Prater Memorial Fund, C/o Robie Prater.
