Donald Ray Owens

Donald Ray Owens, 57 of Silver Lake, Indiana passed away at 5:20 pm Tuesday, September 3, 2013 in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana. On July 6, 1956, he was born in Warsaw, Indiana to Dyrs and Eva (Brown) Owens Sr. He was united in marriage to Sharon McNeilly on September 15, 2012 in Godley, Illinois. Donald was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, where he was a graduate from Warsaw High School. He was employed at Biomet, Warsaw for the last six years. Donald attended Congregational Christian Church, North Manchester. He also was a member of the Steel Workers Union. He enjoyed farming, fishing, horses and kids. He loved to help people and he liked Kentucky. Donald is survived by his wife, Sharon Owens, Silver Lake; his grandson, Tyler Ray, Silver Lake; his daughter, Tasha Owens, Bristol, Tennessee; two step daughters, Berneda (and spouse Randy) Runkle, Claypool and Tonya (and spouse Lamont) Rhoades, Columbia City; his parents, Dyrs and Eva Owens Sr.; two brothers, Dan (and spouse Jan) Owens, Indianapolis and Rick Owens, Warsaw and his sister, Kathy (and spouse Jim) Jackson, North Manchester. Donald was preceded in death by his first wife, Bernice Owens; his mother, Eva (Brown) Owens and his brother, Dyrs Owens Jr.. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, September 6, 2013 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake, Indiana. Visitation hours will be from 4:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday, September 5, 2013 at the funeral chapel.
