Donald F. Kenipe, 91, of Pierceton passed away on April 1, 2019 at 12:48 AM in Kosciusko Community Hospital. He was born on April 6, 1927 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Jennings and Goldie (Ottinger) Kenipe. He was united in marriage in Indianapolis to Marilyn Barnes on June 17, 1951 who preceded him on October 25, 2015. A resident of Pierceton since 1978 he had a lifetime career in sales working for Montgomery Ward, Singer, RCA and Petro Brothers Chrysler. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1950 to 1952 where he was a Corporal in Army Intelligence. He was a member of the Morris Chapel United Methodist Church, Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club where he served as the attendance officer and had 35 years of perfect attendance, a Lifetime Farm Bureau Member and oversaw the Washington Township Food Pantry for several years. He is survived by his children; Bruce Kenipe of Dunkirk, Barbara (and spouse Jeffrey) Genter of Mansfield, Ohio and Jane E. Cope (and companion Patrick Mitchell) of Fishers, Indiana. He is also survived by his grandson Bryan D. (and fiancé Halea Dodds) of Muncie, great-grandchild Quinn Paisley Kenipe; sisters, Mary (and spouse Clarence) Merriman of New Whiteland, IN, Betty Barnes of Indianapolis; brothers, Kenneth (and spouse Joan) Kenipe of Southport and Robert (and spouse Jeannie) Kenipe of Plainfield. He was preceded by his wife, brothers; Jennings Jr and William and sisters, Pauline, Thelma and Judith. A visitation will be held in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel in Warsaw on Friday, April 5, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel in Warsaw on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 11:00 AM with Preacher John Baughman officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Pierceton with Military Honors by the American Legion Post 258. Memorials are requested to the Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club Scholarship Fund in Care of the Kosciusko Community Foundation, 102 E.
