Donald E. Ring

Donald E. Ring, age 95, of Claypool, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2020 in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. Donald was born June 4, 1925 in Claypool, Indiana to Russell and Goldie (Jones) Ring. He was united in marriage to Marian Wiltrout on November 9, 1947 in Walnut Creek Church, Warsaw. Donald proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII from 1944 to 1946. During his time served, he hauled Ammunition and operated an Amphibious Assault Vehicle. He began farming after serving his country. In 1997 he went into business with his son; Kent and formed Maple Shade Farms. He was honored with a Centennial Award in Indianapolis in 2015. Donald retired in 2015, along with his son Kent. He was previously on the board for First National Bank. He was also a member of the American Legion Post # 49 and he was a lifetime member of Walnut Creek Church, Warsaw. Donald is survived by his wife Marian Ring, of Claypool; sons, Kent (Kim) Ring, of Claypool, Keith (Susan) Ring, of North Manchester; 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 1 brother and 2 sisters. ** Due to current COVID-19 recommendations, masks are required.  The public is kindly requested to provide their own. A public graveside service will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 10, 2020 in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Military Honors will be rendered by American Legion Post 49 and VFW Post 1126.
