Donald E. Hoard, 90 of Warsaw passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at 6:30 a.m. in Millers Merry Manor, Warsaw. He was born on March 7, 1928 to James and Pauline (Olden) Hoard in Indianapolis, Indiana. Donald was United States Army Veteran serving from November 6, 1946 to April 18, 1949 as a Clerk Typist, he received the Army of Occupation Medal, Japan and the World War II Victory Medal. He was a member of the American Legion Post 49 Warsaw. He moved to Warsaw from Chicago in 1967, after working for the USPS in Chicago he also worked for the USPS in Warsaw for many years. He was a Warehouse Manager for Sears for five years, he retired from Uniroyal, after retiring Don worked for Wendy’s for eleven years, then has took a position at Walmart as a greeter for nine years all of Warsaw. Don is survived by a host loving nieces, nephews, four Godchildren and his beloved dog, Rikko, who would go everywhere with Don in his front seat of his car. A visitation and a funeral service will be held on Saturday December 8, 2018 from 12:00 to 12:30 p.m. the funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 12:30 p.m. His nieces Esther Shelton – Smith will officiate the service. Also on Saturday he will receive Military Honors by the American Legion Post 49, VFW Post 1126 both of Warsaw and the Indiana Funeral Honor Guard will also be on Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Interment will be private in Oakwood Cemetery at a later date in the American Legion Circle #3, Warsaw. The family is requesting that the memorial contributions be made to McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 provident Ct., Warsaw, Indiana 46580.
