Dennis Joy

Dennis Joy, age 64, of Pierceton, Indiana, passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021 in his residence. Born December 3, 1956,  in Warsaw, Indiana, Dennis was the son of Robert Sr. and Doris (Rush) Joy. He was united in marriage to Sally Hutchinson on January 18, 1997, in Claypool, Indiana who preceded him in passing on July 7, 2013. He  attended Whitko High School and was a former employee of Commodore Homes. Dennis enjoyed golfing and was on the golf league at Stonehenge Golf Club. He loved softball, corn hole, hunting, playing cards, watching his grandkids sporting events and horseshoes.  Being a grandpa was the highlight of his life. Dennis is survived by  his father, Robert  L. Joy Sr. of Pierceton; brother Tim (Jessica) Joy of Warsaw, sister Martha Joy Smith of Pierceton; children, Paula (John) Moore of Winona Lake, Dean (Celina) Adkins of Pierceton, Sheila (Ed) Yohe of South Whitley, Billy (Alena) Hutchinson of Pierceton and Christine (Jeremy) Miller of Pierceton; 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He  was preceded in passing by his wife Sally Hutchinson-Joy, mother, Doris Joy, brother Robert “Bob” Joy Jr. A visitation is planned from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday September 9, 2021 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton – 105 First St Pierceton. A funeral service in celebration of his  life will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday September 10, 2021 in the Pierceton funeral chapel. Pastor Brent Sandy will be officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton. Masks are optional, and social distancing is encouraged. No food is permitted at this time.
