Dawn Rene Phelps

Dawn Phelps, age 51, of Warsaw, Indiana passed away on March 19, 2011 at 5:15 pm in Elkhart General Hospital, Elkhart Indiana. The daughter of Don and Judith (Phend) Parkison, she was born on November 6, 1959 in Columbia City, Indiana.She was raised in Wolfe Lake and had lived the last 15 years in Warsaw.Dawn married Rick Phelps on January 2, 1999 in Warsaw.She worked as a striper for Primetime Incorporated in Wakarusa.She chose to be an organ donor to help save other lives.Dawn is survived by her husband; Rick Phelps, Warsaw; 7 children, Melissa (and spouse Brandon) Leemon, Claypool; Joseph (and spouse Janelle) Phelps, Franklin; Trina (and spouse Josh) VanDusen, Columbia City; Shannon Nellans and fiance Jeff Eades, Mentone; Cheryl Phelps, North Webster and her twin children, Denver and Bailey Phelps, Warsaw; 13 grandchildren; 1 brother, Rory Parkison, Albion and 4 sisters, Laurel Padilla, Niles, Michigan; Dana Brown, Wolf Lake; Tuesday Halsey, Syracuse and Cheryl Clark, Cromwell.She was preceded in death by her father and a stillborn daughter, Melanie Beucler.Visitation will be on Thursday, March 24, 2011 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral chapel.Graveside services will be at Wolf Lake Cemetery, Kimmel, Indiana on Friday, March 25, 2011 at 11:00 am with Pastor Andy Weaver officiating.McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, Indiana is in charge of arrangements.
