David R. Thomas

David R. “Ponto” Thomas, 53 of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 12:49 pm Monday, May 13, 2013 in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. On March 28, 1960, he was born in Welch, West Virginia to Billy E. and Minnie (Lester) Thomas. He married Brenda Mock on May 3, 1985 in Warsaw. David lived most of his life in Warsaw. He worked in maintenance for Serenade Foods, Milford for 34 years. He was a graduate of Warsaw High School, Class of 1979. He enjoyed fishing, dirt bikes, camping and was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Thomas, Warsaw; three sons, Bryan (and spouse Shanna) Thomas, Warsaw, Eric Thomas, Warsaw and Dillon Thomas, Warsaw; three brothers, Bill (and spouse Jenni) Thomas, Warsaw, Johnny Thomas, Akron and Calvin Thomas, Warsaw; four sisters, Deb (and spouse Mitch) Hunsberger, Warsaw, Donna (and spouse Mitch) Glant, Warsaw, Deanna Thomas, North Webster and Kathy Garris, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by his father. A funeral service will be at 11:00 am Saturday, May 18, 2013 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Pastor Terry Bradford officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton. Visitation hours will be from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 pm Friday, May 17, 2013 at the funeral chapel.
