David F. Larrew, 92, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026 at Millers Marry Manor in Warsaw.
Born in Etna, Indiana on October 29, 1932, David was the son of Melvin and Pearl (Bowers) Larrew. He attended Warsaw High School.
David was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1953. He served in in the 809 Engineer Aviation Battalion during the Korean War, but was not in combat, and was stationed in South Korea. He was Honorably Discharged with the rank of a corporal in 1955. In 2022, David was one of 10 area veterans who were honored and given quilts during the Threads of Valor ceremony at the Kosciusko County Senior Center.
David was a carpenter for numerous contractors over the years, specializing in his trade. He then went on to work for Maple Leaf Farms as a maintenance technician, where he retired.
He enjoyed getting outdoors, enjoying the peacefulness of fishing and the thrill of hunting rabbits and squirrels. He enjoyed dancing and listening to country music. David loved his family and enjoyed making many lasting memories together.
He is survived by his children: Becka (Devon) Hapner of Leesburg, Belinda (Lonnie) Slone of Warsaw and Brian (Marie) Larrew of Leesburg, 6 grandchildren: Holly (Dewayne) Owens, Chad (Fiance` Dawn Poe) Swope, Tyler (Victoria) Larrew, Tiana Larrew and Addison (Ben) Schoolcraft, Jennifer Moorehead: and 5 great-grandchildren, Trevor (Madison) and Alyssa, Hadley, Sadie, and Declan, and one great-great granddaughter Dakota.
David was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and three sisters.
His memory will live on through those who have known him.
Per his wishes, cremation will take place. A celebration of Life for David will take place at the World of Truth Church 210 E Catherine St. Milford, IN 46542 at a later date, with Pastor Mike Kelley officiating.
