David J.Blake, 73 of Warsaw died Wednesday May 11, 2011 at 9:40 a.m. in Mason Healthcare Center, Warsaw. David was born on May 27, 1937 to Albert and Gertrude (Stewart) Blake in Buffalo, New York. He received an academic scholarship from St. Joseph College, Latrobe, Pennsylvania and had played college football for St Vincent's College. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1956 - 1958. He worked as a Senior Executive for Saginaw Machine Systems (SMS) Incorporated, Saginaw, Michigan. David moved to Warsaw from Buffalo in 2000 and has attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw. He was an avid football fan and his favorite team was the Buffalo Bills. David is survived by his daughter, Diane (and spouse Steve) McGarvey, Leesburg and his son, David Blake and fiancee Marcell Clark, Woodstock, Georgia. Three grandchildren, Blake, Will and Graham McGarvey, Leesburg. He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother, Robert Blake. a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw on his birthday, May 27th at 5:30pm with Father Phil DeVolder officiating. There are no visitation hours planned and burial will be held on October 8th in Buffalo, New York.
