David E. Church

David E. Church, 87 of Pierceton, Indiana passed away at 7:00 am Sunday, April 17, 2016 in Millers Merry Manor, Syracuse, Indiana. On May 22, 1928, he was born in Denver, Indiana to Walter J. and Aloise F. (Fournie) Church. He was united in marriage to Nancy A. Kaufman on March 20, 1954 in Wooster, Ohio, who survives. David lived in Sidney from 1934 to 1993 until moving to the Pierceton area. He was a graduate of Sidney High School, Class of 1946. He was a farmer and also a factory worker at Gripnut Co. in South Whitley and then he worked for Weatherhead, Columbia City for seventeen years. He served our country honorably in the U.S. Army from November 1, 1950 – November 1, 1952, during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Warsaw New Harvest Church of the Nazarene, Warsaw, Masonic Lodge, Warsaw and also American Legion Post #253, North Webster. David is survived by his wife of sixty two years, Nancy A. Church, Pierceton; two sons, Paul Church, Derby, Kansas and Robert Church, Marshfield, Wisconsin; his daughter, Janet Calhoun, South Whitley; his sister, Annabelle Enyeart, North Manchester; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter and two brothers. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Warsaw New Harvest Church of the Nazarene, 1654 Fisher Avenue, Warsaw, Indiana with Pastor Bill Keen officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester with military honors by the American Legion Post #253, North Webster. Visitation hours will be from 4:00 -7:00 pm on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Memorial contributions may be made to Warsaw New Harvest Church of the Nazarene, 1654 Fisher Avenue, Warsaw, Indiana 46580.
