Darrin Gibbs

January 25, 1966 — April 27, 2025

Darrin Gibbs, 59, peacefully passed away after losing his battle with cancer on Sunday, April 27, 2025 in his Warsaw home.

Born in East Tawas, Michigan on January 25, 1966, Darrin was the son of Viriginia “Ginni” (Graham) and Gerald “Jerry” (Joanne) Gibbs. He would graduate from Alanson Littlefield Highschool in Alanson, Michigan.

Darrin would marry his high school sweetheart, Nadine (Carter) Gibbs, in Michigan on April 4, 1986. The couple would move their family to Warsaw in 2001 to be closer to Nadine’s mother.

He worked for Danco Medical for several years before needing to go on leave due to medical issues.

Darrin was known as “Old Man” to his kids and many are thankful for him for being the “Dad”, that he didn’t have to be, to those who didn’t have one or had one that wasn’t a positive role model and figure. He was selfless and would go without to provide for those who meant the most to him.

He was a fun-loving, free spirit. He always aspired to be a drag racer and participated in the Night of Destruction at New Paris. Anything that had to do with cars, he loved. Whether it be working on cars or looking at cars at shows. He was very much mechanically inclined and taught his kids to be the same. Darrin enjoyed kayaking and motorcycles, owning one much of his life until recent.

Darrin’s family was always together and they made holidays special with traditions. The couple always had an open-door policy to anyone and everyone. When he got sick, he found joy playing video games, because he could have personal time with his grandkids whether it be side by side or over the headset.

He is dearly missed by his children: Ginni (Tim) Hyde, Jaimie-Lee (Eric) Graham, Nicholas (Bridgette) Gibbs and Devin Gibbs, all of Warsaw; his step-mother, Joanne Gibbs of Ridgefield, WA; grandchildren: Garrett, Autumn, Dylan, Friday, and Christinia Graham, Sophia Seymour, Mikael and Navarrah Gibbs, Noah Hyde, Lauren, Lucas, Laura, Lincoln and Liam Gibbs.

Also surviving is his step-sister, Elsa Lynch of WA; adopted sister, Jenny Zimmerman of Warsaw; uncle, Bob Splinter of Alanson, MI; cousin Brenda King of Alanson, MI; many adopted kids; his cat, Midnight Gibbs; granddog, Fatta Boy Crowley and grandcat, Sterling Gibbs.

Darrin was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Ginni; his wife Nadine on November 10, 2021; his brother Loren Gibbs; grandson, Zylar Gibbs-Hyde; and granddaughters, Alex-Marie Gibbs-Hyde and Larissa Gibbs.

Per his wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
