Curtis E. Campbell

Curtis E. Campbell, 73, of Pierceton, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at 4:25 p.m. in his residence. Born January 28, 1948 in Floyd Co., Kentucky, Curtis was the son of Earl Campbell and Ethel (Ousley) Sparks. He was united in marriage to Starla Lamb on September 24, 1988 in Warsaw, Indiana. He was a graduate of Martin High School, Martin, Kentucky. He retired in 2020 as a machinist for Zimmer Biomet with 15 years of service and was a former supervisor for O.E.C. Dynamics.  Curtis was known as a community person with a big heart, and he never knew a stranger.  He would willingly buy someone dinner or a drink anytime.  He was known to many as the mayor of Pierceton, keeping Pierceton safe sitting on his front porch. Curtis is survived by his wife Starla Campbell of Pierceton, children, Curtis (Tabatha) Campbell Jr. of Fort Wayne, Toni (Jason) Lester of Claypool, Lisa (Jim) Rose of Warsaw and Donna Bryant of Mattawan, MI. Surviving grandchildren: Brant Campbell, Nathan Campbell, Alex (Natalie) Griffith, Anjeanette Ryall, Dakota (Angel) Fishbaugh, Samantha Landry, Austin Rose, Devan Landry, Hannah Rose, Cayla Slone, Steven Smith, Seth Bryant (Danesha), Curtis Campbell (Masiah), Andrew Bryant (Caitlin), Skyler Campbell; great-grandchildren include, Arianna Fishbaugh, Colton Fishbaugh, Joshua Drake, Chase Terrell, Rhett Griffith, David Bryant, Kaniyah Miller, Giovinni Miller, and Suzanna Diggs. He was preceded in passing by daughter Shelly Campbell and brother Earl Campbell. In memory of Curtis, a gathering of family and friends is planned for July 10, 2021 starting at 11:00 a.m.  at the Pierceton American Legion Post #258. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw have been entrusted with arrangements for the family. Memorial donations may be made to Riley Children’s Foundation - 30 South Meridian Street, Suite 200, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204-3509.
