David L. Chauncey, I, Colonel (US Army Ret.), age 91, of Warsaw, Indiana passed away Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 12:26 PM in his residence. He was born August 25, 1922 to Alvin L. and Virginia B (Campbell) Chauncey. On June 7, 1942 he was united in marriage to Jacqueline Read who preceded him on August 25, 1998. He is a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School, Indianapolis class of 1940. In addition, he is a graduate of the United States Army Command and Staff College. He faithfully served his Country from 1942 to 1972 during World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Conflict as an enlisted man, officer and civilian employee. From 1972 to 1978 the Health and Hospital Corporation of Marion County employed him. He was a 62-year (lifetime) member of Logan Masonic Lodge #575, Indianapolis; a 35-year member of Scottish Rite Marion County Valley and the Murat Shrine of Indianapolis; the Military Officers of America and Legion Post #253 of North Webster. Survivors include a son David L. (spouse Faye) Chauncey, II; grandchildren Cindy Chauncey, Brad (spouse Brandi) and great granddaughter Megan Chauncey. A brother and a sister preceded him. No calling or services are planned. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw is entrusted with the arrangements.
