Cheryl L. Pitts

Cheryl L. Pitts, 64, of Mentone, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 17, 2026, with family by her side.

Born on February 20, 1962, in Warsaw, she was the beloved daughter of Ronald and Mrytle (Tackett) Heeter.

Cheryl was a homemaker. She loved spending time and being with her family more than anything. She shared her life with John Rhoads, recently celebrating 25 years.

She enjoyed camping, racing, and watching Hallmark Movies. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. She would love having the kids over to decorate and then celebrate the magic of the holiday.

Cheryl will be lovingly remembered by her companion John Rhoads, and son Phillip McCord (Trista Walton), her daughters; Melissa Shaw, Maya McCord (Logan Newton) and Elliana McCord, 11 grandchildren and7 greatgrandchildren, her siblings; Joan Evans, Vickie Holloway, and Loretta Carpenter, Melvin Heeter and Ronald Heeter as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Donny Heeter and Jimmy Heeter, and sisters; Sue Amburgy and Rhonda Utter, and son Michael McCord.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 10-12pm at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, Warsaw with services following at 12:00 pm and Dave Tackett officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
