Charlie “Buddy” Farmer Jr. , 73, of Silver Lake, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at home.
Charlie was born on April 3, 1951 in Mavisdale, Virginia to Charles Sr. and Margaret (Meadows) Farmer. On October 21, 1976 he married Janette Middleton.
Charlie served in the U.S Marine during the Vietnam Conflict.
He was a working foreman for Oakwood Cemetery for 20 years before retiring. He was also the past president of National Speleological Society. Charlie enjoyed fishing, camping, and gardening.
Charlie will be lovingly remembered by his wife Janette, children Douglas (Tracy) Farmer, Charity Farmer, Charlie (Jolea) Farmer III, and Regina (Tim) Bearman; siblings Linda Taylor, Steven (Joyce) Farmer, Tony (Wendy) Farmer, Rita (Harold) Wrenn, Vera Zartman, and Ernest (Becky) Farmer; grandchildren Kaneasha, Kayle, Zachary, Jazlyn, Tyler, Chandler, Cameron, Alyssia, Logan, Brayden, Natasha, Christian, Matt, Eric, Bo and great-grandchildren Evan, Ezra, Giovanni, and Izabella.
He was preceded in passing by both parents.
A visitation with family and friends will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, 2290 Provident Ct. Warsaw. Funeral services in celebration of Charlie’s life will begin at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 24, 2024 in the funeral chapel with Reverend Robert Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery with military honors.
