Charles R. “Charlie” Barrett, age 70, of Warsaw, IN passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 11:31 pm in Kosciusko Community Hospital Warsaw, IN. He was born August 23, 1940 in Warsaw, IN to Jeuith Dustin and June Esther (Nelson) Barrett. He was a lifetime resident of Claypool and Warsaw, IN. On July 31, 1973 in Warsaw, IN he was united in marriage to Jackalyn Ann Byers. Charlie retired from RR Donnelly and Sons of Warsaw, IN after 44 years of service as a Shipping Supervisor. He was a 20-year member of the Warsaw Volunteer Fire Department. Other memberships include Mason Lodge #73 Warsaw, IN; Fort Wayne Valley Scottish Rite; Mizpah Shrine Temple Fort Wayne, IN; Kosciusko County Shrine Club where he was a longtime volunteer for the Shrine Circus and Fish Fry’s and sponsored numerous children as patients for the Shriners Hospitals for Children.In addition, he was a lifetime member of the NRA, KOSCO Gun Club, Warsaw Rifle and Pistol Club, a member of the Breading’s Cigar Store Breakfast Crowd, and a former Kosciusko County Precinct Committeeman for the Kosciusko County GOP. Survivors include his wife Jackie Barrett of Warsaw, IN; sons Steven Barrett of Wood Bridge, VA and C. Dustin Barrett of Warsaw, IN; daughter Deborah Barrett of Warsaw, IN; sisters Dorothy Poe of Claypool, IN and Wanda Paris of Indianapolis, IN; brother David Barrett of Roann, IN; step-mother Inez Barrett of Winona Lake, IN; grandchildren Jennifer Barrett, Cassandra Wagoner, Zachary Wagoner and 6 great grandchildren. His parents and sisters Carolyn and Linda and a brother Sam preceded him. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 2, 2011 at the family residence. Tobias “Toby” Buck will conduct the celebration. Private interment services will be held.
