Charles Edward Davis, 90 of North Webster and formerly of Bourbon, Indiana passed away May 3, 2016 at 7:15 PM in Kosciusko Community Hospital. He was born on December 7, 1925 in Stroh, Indiana to Claude and Ula (Holdread) Davis. On September 14, 1946 he married G. Ruth Cox who preceded him in death in 1999. He was retired from Woody Everly and Sons as a truck driver. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1945 with the Seabees 96th Naval Construction Battalion as a Seaman 2nd Class participating in campaigns in the European-African-Middle Eastern, Asiatic-Pacific, and the Philippine Theaters during WWII. He was a 70-year member of the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster and the VFW Post 1126 in Warsaw. In addition he was Past Commander of the Bourbon American Legion Post # 424. He is survived by his son: Greg (and spouse Linda) Davis of Winona Lake, sisters: Bonnie Barrett of Tippecanoe, Hariett Brown of Winona Lake, and Valerie (and spouse Noble) Kintzel of Etna Green. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Holly (and spouse Jeff) Washer, Jenna (and spouse Dustin) Dammeier, Wesley (and spouse Jillian) Rodman, greatgrandchildren: Mason Washer, Jacee, and Braden Dammeier along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, C. Ruth Davis, his parents 2 brothers a daughter, Marsha and a son Larry. A graveside service with Military Honors by the American Legion Post 253 and the Military Honor Guard will be held at 11:30 AM, Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw with Chaplain Bob Jarboe of Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice officiating. Visitation will be Friday, May 6, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel in Warsaw. McHatton –Sadler Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with all arrangements.
