Charles “Derick” Sanders, 35, of Claypool passed away in a motorcycle accident on Wednesday, June 12, 2024.
Derick was born on May 7, 1989 in Plymouth, Indiana to James “Alan” Sanders and Teresa (Miller) Cantrell. He attended Plymouth Schools and later in life got his GED.
On January 27, 2021 in Fort Wayne, Derick took Karen G. Prater as his wife.
Derick loved working in the rock quarries in Arkansas. He had a huge heart and was very protective of his family. Derick was an animal lover and loved spending time with his fur-daughter, Roxy. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and being outdoors, swimming or kayaking. Derick was a huge Notre Dame Football fan. He also attended New Life Christian Church in Warsaw.
Derick is deeply missed by his wife Karen of Claypool; his mother Teresa Cantrell of Argos; his siblings: Santanna (Steven) Shook of Rochester, Samantha (Spencer) Wilson of Bremen and Brianna Sanders of Nappanee; brothers and sisters-in-law: Davey Prater of Warsaw, Terry Prater of Claypool and Lori (Floyd) Cissom of Warsaw; mother and father-in-law Brenda and Marcus Prater of Claypool; his aunts, Kimberly Sanders of Vilonia, AK and Kimberly Dickson of Plymouth as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Alan in April of 2024 and his grandparents.
Per his wishes, cremation will take place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
