Charles A. Murphy, 78, of 320 West Main Street Warsaw, Indiana, died on 3/9/2010 at 1:11 pm at his residence. He was born on September 29, 1931 in East Saint Louis, IL. He was born to Albert Charles and Mary M. (Lenear) Murphy. He was formerly of Elkhart, Indiana, and was a Warsaw, Indiana, resident since 1987. On May 28, 1988, he married Shirley (Coleman) Susaraba in Louisville, Kentucky. Charles retired from Chrysler Corporation as a manufacturing and production employee. He belonged to the First Christian Church of Warsaw, Indiana. Charles was a member of The American Legion Post #49 in Warsaw, Indiana. He was a U.S. Army Veteran CPL(T) with the 445th Ordinance Company faithfully serving his country in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Murphy of Warsaw, Indiana. Also, by 3 step-sons: David (spouse Jodi) Susaraba-Warsaw, Indiana; Nick Susaraba-Silver Lake, Indiana; and, John (spouse Kathy) Susaraba-Warsaw, Indiana. In addition, by 1 sister: Pauline Hayden-Caseyville, Illinois and 5 Grandchildren: Lauren, Christopher, Jonas, Sydney, and Hannah and 3 Great Grandchildren: Caiden, Caitlyn, and Camden. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Gordon K. Murphy and James Murphy; 1 sister, Carol Sue Stevenson; and 1 granddaughter, Rebekah Lynn. Pastor Gary Boschain of the First Christian Church of Warsaw, Indiana will officiate the service. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, Indiana, with Military Honors provided by VFW Post 1126 and The American Legion Post 49. Services will be held at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel - Warsaw on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Calling hours will be 10:00 - 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 13, 2010. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery - Warsaw, IN. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel - Warsaw, IN is in charge of arrangements.
