Catherine Sheila Ott

Catherine Sheila Ott, 87, of Warsaw, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday morning, June 1, 2026, at Stillwater Hospice of Fort Wayne.

Catherine was born on November 19, 1938, in Streater, Illinois, to her loving parents, George and Anna (Dzuirin) Zack. She graduated from Streater High School in 1956. In the spring of 1965 on April 3, she would marry Thomas Ott. They would share 38 wonderful years together until his passing in January of 2004.

After high school she began a career in cosmetics with Mary Kay. She spent 37 years helping others with their skin and color care needs. In 1997, she was the second runner-up in the nation for Mary Kay, for which she was named Queen of the Court. She also won one of their grand prizes they would give out yearly. In 2013, Catherine went to work for Meijer until her retirement in 2023.

In her free time, Catherine would enjoy playing cards with friends and enjoying time on Chapman Lake, where she resided. She had a fondness for all animals, especially dogs. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for many years donating her time to its many programs.

Catherine will be deeply missed by her daughter, Carla (Dan) Engle.

She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas, her two sisters and her parents.

A visitation will be held on Thursday June 4, 2026, from 4-6:00 pm, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, with a Rosary service beginning at 6:00 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 am, Friday June 5, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 125 N Harrison St, Warsaw with Father Mwanje officiating. Burial will be held at Oakwood Cemetery.

Memorial donations in Catherine’s honor may be made to Stillwater Hospice, 5910 Homestead Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46814-4202, and the Animal Welfare League, 1048 S 325 E., Pierceton, IN 46562.
