Catherine L. “Barbara” Bradway, 77 of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 3:09 pm on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. Catherine was born on January 8, 1934 to Ruby Schwertz in New York City, New York. She worked as a bookkeeper, antigue dealer and as a model for Cashbox Magazine, New York City. She also worked as a manager for Rosalee Fashions and Manufacturing and as a stage dancer in New York City. She retired as a self employed caregiver. She moved to Warsaw in 1974 and married her husband of 25 years, Ward Bradway on August 2, 1975 in Nappanee. He preceded her in death on August 16, 2001. In a previous marriage, she was married to Tom Gamble in Brooklyn, New York. She finished as runner up in the Mrs. Indiana Beauty Contest Catherine was a member of the Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was survived by 5 children, Chet (and spouse Karen) Gamble, Bremen; Jamie Gianfrancisco, South Bend; Barbara Ann Mitchell, Lakeside, California; David Bradway, Santee, California and Linda (and spouse Nathaniel) Waddell, South Bend. 1 step son, Ben Bradway, Warsaw. Previous husband, Tom Gamble Sr., Brooklyn, New York. 2 sisters, Denise Torres, Illinois and Lenore Schwertz, Florida. 10 grandchildren, Thomas (and spouse Sheri) Gamble of Niles, Michigan; Stephen (and spouse Robin) Gamble of Madison; Travis Peterson of Santee, California; Sasha Peterson of Santee, California; Shauna Peterson of Lakeside, California; Samantha Peterson of El Cajon, California; Brandon Peterson of El Cajon, California; Billy Pressley of South Bend; April Pressley of South Bend and Stephen George of Leesburg. 13 great grandchildren, Hannah, Adin, Silas and Asher Gamble of Madison; Caleb, Micah, Corbin, Elijah and Malachi Gamble of Niles, Michigan; Thomas Ward Peterson of El Cajon, California; Shay Peterson of Santee, California; Naomi and Antonio Blackman of South Bend and Alexandria Brooks of South Bend. Catherine was also preceded in death by her daughter, Gina Gianfrancisco. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 pm Monday, May 16, 2011 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at the funeral chapel with Thomas Gamble-Minister officiating. Burial will follow at Stony Point Cemetery, Leesburg, Indiana. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Christian Childrens Fund or to Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County.
