Catherine 'Katie' Hanes-Adams

Catherine “Katie” Hanes- Adams, 86 of Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 10:00 am Tuesday, May 19, 2015 in Grace Village Healthcare Center, Winona Lake, Indiana. On July 30, 1928, she was born in Miami County, Indiana to Charles I. and Elma E. (Gray) Wray. She was united in marriage to Elmer Hanes on March 7, 1948 in Peru, Indiana. He preceded her in death on July 23, 1999. She then was united in marriage to William Elwyn Adams on November 11, 2000 in Atwood, Indiana, who survives. Katie lived in the Atwood and Warsaw area since 1965. She worked as a hostess for Holiday, Inn, Warsaw. She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Atwood and former member of Center Chapel Church, Erie, Indiana. She is survived by her husband, William “Elwyn” Adams, Warsaw; three daughters, Marj (and spouse Terry) Harmon, Warsaw, Paula (and spouse Leon) Brown, Destin, Florida and Karen Hanes, Kokomo; two sons, Larry (and spouse Donna) Hanes, Warsaw and Rod (and spouse Sharon) Hanes, Peru; one sister, Charlene Hohman, Silver Lake; 12 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be at 11:00 am Friday, May 22, 2015 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Pastors’ Tracy Reed and Mark Pogue officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Visitation hours will be from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 pm Thursday, May 21, 2015 in the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Kosciusko County Cancer Care Fund, C/o K21 Foundation, 2170 North Pointe Drive, Warsaw, Indiana 46582.
