Caroll JoAnn Laney, born February 15, 1931 in Winona Lake to Cloice and Cleo (Parker) Clay, passed away on August 26, 2024. She married Floyd Laney on July 1, 1950. She is preceded in death by her husband, both parents, her sister Delores Ginther, her brothers Marvin and Bill Clay and granddaughter Jessica Kocher.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children Mike (Pattie) Laney of Haines City, FL., Rick (Susan) Laney, of Flower Mound, TX., Cheryl (Dan) Craze of Panama City, FL., and Susan (Tom) Swick of Lee’s Summit, MO., her sister Marita Cox, Akron and her 24 grandchildren and 56 great grandchildren.
The family lived in Southern California for 13 years. During this time, she supported her children’s activity by being a girl scout leader and team mom for her boys’ sports team. In 1969 the family moved back to Warsaw where she worked for Da-Lite Screen until her retirement.
Carroll was an active member of Community Bible Church and was known as the “Cookie Lady”. In retirement, she enjoyed playing cards, fishing and bowling and became a state bowling champion.
A visitation with family and friends will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 7th, at the McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Ct., Warsaw. Funeral services in celebration of Caroll’s life follows the visitation with Pastor Brian Benjamin officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Claypool.
