Carol was born on June 12, 1947 in Payne, Ohio to Bernard and Catherine (Linder) Gonya. Her family would make Warsaw their home and she would graduate from Warsaw High School with the class of 1965. She worked at First National Bank as a bookkeeper after high school.

Carol was a devoted wife and stay-at home mother. She volunteered as a recess aide and as a room mom, when her kids were in school. She enjoyed babysitting the neighborhood kids and all her grandchildren. Carol was strong-willed, witty, humble and caring. She taught her family to always be honest and the faith and family were very important.

She loved curling up with a good book, playing cards with friends and her grandchildren, and attending her grandchildren’s sport and school activities.

Carol and Stan are faithful members of Sacred Heart Church, where she would aid in dinners and various activities.

She is loving missed by her husband, Stan, and their children: Amy (Dustin) Mayer, Kelly (Randy) Dawson and Kevin (Melanie) Swartz, all of Warsaw; grandchildren: Andrea (Ryan) Wolfe, Alex (Melinda) Miller, Hannah Dawson, Megan Dawson, Erin Dawson and Tyler Swartz; great-grandchildren Easton, Ella, Evan and Emerson. She is also survived by her siblings: Marianne Clark of Richmond, IN, Mike (Louise) Gonya of Ft. Wayne, and Nancy (Tom) Barker of Pierceton; and sisters and brother-in-law: Mary Gonya, Sally Gonya and Phil Fry.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Bill, Bob, John Gonya and Kathleen Fry; and brother and sister-in-law, Bob Clark and Rita Gonya.
