Carol L. Creekmore Smith

September 24, 1953 — February 23, 2024

Carol Louise Creekmore Smith, 70, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne.

Carol was born in Warsaw, Indiana on September 24, 1953 to Albert and Judith (Reynolds) Creekmore. She graduated from Pierceton High School and went on to get her BA Secretary degree from the International Business School.

Carol met a handsome boy on the beach in Ft. Meyers, Florida, Donald Eugene Smith. It was love at first sight for this couple and they would wed on February 5, 1978.

She worked for 10 years at Kimble Glass until she was 28, and then became a stay-at-home mother, raising their three children. Carol was caring, sweet, fun and just a great person. She was always with her daughter, laughing and enjoying life. Carol followed Eric Clapton on his tours for many years and loved going to concerts. She was a jewelry maker and liked cooking.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Sabrina Leathers of Pierceton, and son Jeremiah E. Smith of Warsaw; grandchildren Adrianna Smith and Tyler Bell; and great-grandson Dromideus Burch.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald in 2010; her son Chris Creekmore in 2019; brother Charles Creekmore; and son-in-law Francis “Henry” Leathers in January 2024.
