Charles “Eddy” Slone, age 46, of Grant, FL passed away Monday, December 9, 2013 at 11:50 AM in Holmes Regional Medical Center, Melbourne, FL. He was born August 2, 1967 to Charles Ed and Linda Slone. He was a 1985 graduate of Warsaw Community High School. He faithfully served is country in the United States Navy, stationed at Charleston, SC and served aboard the USS Worden (Leahy-class Cruiser) CG-18 from 1985 to 1988. He was employed by Dr. Richard Bunt of Melbourne, FL .In addition; he was employed in the security profession for several years and has resided in Warsaw, IN, California and Florida. He enjoyed scuba diving, auto racing, and the Miami Dolphins and Florida Gators football. However, most of all his nephews were his pride and joy. Survivors include his mother Linda Slone Gatke of Warsaw, IN; a sister Brigette (spouse Darren) Young of Warsaw, IN; nephews Brenden Barber, Cameron Shepherd and Garrett Young all of Warsaw, IN, a daughter Cassandra Fleck of Akron, IN and two grandchildren. He was preceded by his father Charles Ed Slone and his grandparents. A Memorial Service will be conducted Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 11:00 AM in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.
