Bonnie Shafer

Bonnie Shafer, 86, of Warsaw passed away on Friday, June 5, 2015 at 2:48 a.m. at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. She was born on January 12, 1929 to Roy and Lois (Arter) Hubbard in Argos, IN. Bonnie was united in marriage on September 24, 1949 to Paul Shafer in Akron, IN. She has been a Kosciusko County resident since 1963. She retired from Kosciusko County Treasurer’s Office as a Clerk. Bonnie is survived by a daughter, Paula (and spouse Greg) Dearborn of Warsaw; a son, Rick (and spouse Robin) Shafer of Warsaw; grandchildren, Vanessa Shafer of Warsaw, Colin Shafer of Milford and Dustin Dearborn of Union Grove, WI, a sister, Virginia Surguy of Warsaw. She is preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, her husband and 1 granddaughter. There will be a funeral service held on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Pastor Jeff Pfeifer will officiate. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
