Bobby Joe Gist

Bobby Joe Gist, 78 of Warsaw, Indiana went home to be with Jesus at 12:40 pm Monday, August 31, 2015 in his residence. On April 18, 1937, he was born in Centerville, Arkansas to Arrie and Ruby (Underwood) Gist. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Jean Rohrer on July 31, 1976 in Warsaw, Indiana who survives. Bobby lived in Arkansas until he moved to the Warsaw area on April 10, 2000. He worked for Tyson Foods in Russellville, Arkansas for twenty- two years, retiring in 1999 and was then employed by the Times Union Newspaper for 15 years. He was a member of United Pentecostal Church, Warsaw. He is survived by his wife of thirty nine years, Bonnie Jean Gist, Warsaw; a daughter Merla Mae (spouse Mitchell) Ousley, Warsaw; a son David (spouse Cathy) Bryant, Bourbon; a brother Arrie Gist Jr., Russellville, Arkansas; a sister, Pearl Nunckles, Dardanelle, Arkansas; grandchildren Josh and Natalie Ousley and Daisy (spouse Jason) Hollon all of Warsaw, Tracey (spouse Matt) Ingle, Tina (spouse Scott) Allen, Dava Bryant and Matthew (spouse KC) Bryant all of Nappannee, and Matthew Hummel of Bourbon. In addition, 11 great grandchildren survive. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Bubby, Harold and Jim Gist A funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 3, 2015 in United Pentecostal Church, Warsaw with Pastor Dan Cox officiating. Burial will be in Island Cemetery, Milford, Indiana. Visitation hours will be from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 pm Wednesday, September 2, 2015 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.
