Betty Carol Porter, 75, of Warsaw, passed away Wednesday evening at home with her husband by her side.
Born on February 13, 1950, she was the beloved daughter of James E. and Willie “Estelle” (Chumney) Middleton, in Lexington, Tennessee.
After graduating from high school, Betty continued her education by attending college for four years and earning her programming and accounting degrees. She then moved to Indiana where she became an office manager.
Betty married her love of a lifetime Robert E. Porter in Hobart, Indiana on August 29, 1969. They would spend the next 57 years loving and sharing wonderful times together.
Betty enjoyed reading a good book almost daily. She had a knack for sewing and crocheting. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Her family meant the world to her. She enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren, especially when they were just little babies.
Betty will be remembered as a kind, giving, loving mother, grandmother, wife, and sister.
Betty is survived by her husband Robert, her children and grandchildren: Sheree A Porter – Northcutt, Lisa (Porter) Cram, Betty Grace Porter, Christopher Northcutt, Andrew Northcutt, Abigail Northcutt, Jacob Northcutt, and Nathaniel Northcutt, eight great grandchildren, and her siblings, James Middleton and Peggy (Middleton) Ripperdan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Robert M. Porter in 2019, and her siblings, Judy (Middleton) Kimmel in 2002, Brenda (Middleton) Jackson in 1994, Pat (Middleton) Tharp in 2018, and Robert A. Middleton in 1994.
