Betty Jean Smith

Betty Jean Smith, 92, of Warsaw, In passed away June 3, 2011 at 10:35 pm in Grace Village Health Care Center, Winona Lake, Indiana. She was born on July 17, 1918 in Kosciusko County, to Jean E. and Bernice (Orr) Hart. She married Floyd W. Smith, who preceded her in death. She lived most of her life in Leesburg and Warsaw. Her family were the previous owners of the Leesburg Grain Elevator. She was involved, for many years, with the Red Cross Bloodbank. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was a previous member of Leesburg Methodist Church. She is survived by a son, R. Douglas (and spouse Judi) Smith; 3 daughters, Cindy (and spouse Jerry) Kammerer; Sheri Bleile and Staci Smith. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Visitation hours will be on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. a private graveside service will be held at Leesburg Cemetery, Leesburg. The family requests memorial contributions are to be made to Kosciusko County Cancer Care Fund, 2170 North Pointe Drive, Warsaw, Indiana 46582.
