Benjamin “Lester” Mckrill

March 29, 1932 — April 19, 2022

Benjamin Lester McKrill, 90, of Warsaw, died Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Kosciusko Community Hospital.  He was born March 29, 1932, in Warsaw, the son of (the late) Benjamin and Lillian (Wilson) McKrill. He graduated from Claypool High School with the Class of ’50 and on February 15, 1953, he married Sally C. (Bunting) McKrill; she preceded him in death on January 3, 2017, after 63 years of marriage. Benjamin retired from Othy, Inc. in Warsaw and had served as the Clay Township Trustee for over 30 years. He served in the US Navy and was a member of the American Legion Post 49. He was an avid sports enthusiast, especially for the Chicago Cubs and Bears. Benjamin was devoted to his family, he loved taking rides with Sally in their convertible and cherished the time spent with his grandchildren, or just simply working on the mowers or cutting wood with his son or visiting Cedar Point with his family where he absolutely loved riding the roller coasters. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was also preceded in death by son, Mark McKrill; brother, Fred McKrill and sister, Mary Tinkey. He is survived by his son, Benjamin Allan (Amber) McKrill and daughter, Jo (Stan) Wall, both of Warsaw; daughter-in-law, Sara McKrill of Huntertown; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Services for Benjamin are private with arrangements through McHatton Sadler Funeral Chapels, 2290 Provident Ct. Warsaw. He will be laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery with Sally. The family’s preferred memorial is Kosciusko County Cancer Fund, c/o K-21 Health Foundation, 1101 Park Avenue, Winona Lake, IN 46590.
