Barbara Shepherd

Barbara Shepherd, 75, of Leesburg died December 12, 2015 at 10:00 PM in her residence. She was born April 20, 1940 in Columbia City, Indiana to Charles and Helen (Gebert) Wolfe. She has been a resident of Kosciusko County since 1966. On December 26, 1965 she married Russell Hursey who died August 31, 1994. Then on May 15, 1999 she married William E. Shepherd who died February 18, 2013. She was a former co-owner of The Farmers Exchange in Larwill from 1965 until 1973. She was also formerly employed by Union Products in Cromwell, Indiana. She was a member of the Menzie-Reese Post of the American Legion Auxiliary in Pierceton, Indiana. She is survived by her daughters, Deb Baker, Silver Lake, Indiana, Tona Walter (and companion Doug O’Brien), South Whitley, Indiana, a son Scott Clem, Fort White, Florida, step-daughters Sandra Helblig, Leesburg, Indiana, Jane (and spouse Carl) Hughes, Silver Lake, Indiana, a step-son Charles Shepherd, Pierceton, Indiana, sister Mary Lou Loe, Columbia City, Indiana, brother Robert Wolfe, Park Falls, Wisconsin, 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 husbands, a sister and a great granddaughter. A visitation will be held Wednesday December 16, 2015 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel in Pierceton, Indiana. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel in Pierceton, Indiana at 11:00 AM with Pastor Carl Hughes officiating. Burial will follow the service at Washington-Union Cemetery in Pierceton, Indiana.
