Barbara Ringer

Barbara Joanne (Freeman) Ringer, 70, passed away with her daughter, Kim, holding her, on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 4:26 am at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City, Indiana due to a lengthy battle against renal failure. Barbara, whom is originally from Warsaw, IN was born December 9, 1941 to Victor Edward and Mary Jane (Brown) Freeman of Warsaw; she had moved to Tell City in 2010 to be closer to her daughter and family. She was united in marriage to Douglas Michael (Mike) Ringer in Warsaw, IN on December 12, 1965. Barbara was a book-keeper for the Holiday Inn and Ramada Plaza Hotels for 16 years; she also was a co-owner of Ringer Body and Cycle Shop with her husband, Mike. Barbara was a past President of Ladies’ Shrine and a Life Member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association; she was a 1959 graduate of Warsaw Community High School and was a member of the HS band in which she played the saxophone. Barbara enjoyed being with her daughter and family as well as traveling to casinos, card games with family and friends, reading, knitting, and playing games on her computer. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Kim (Ringer) and son-in-law, Richard Harley of Lewisport, KY. Four grandsons: Allen Collins of Indianapolis, IN, Kristopher Collins and his wife, Rachel, of Pleasant Ridge, KY, Nicholas Harley and his wife, Crystal, and Brandon Harley and his wife, Sara, of Owensboro, KY. Three great-grandsons: Clay, and twins Jacob and Nathan Harley, and one great-granddaughter Kaylee Grace Harley, all of Owensboro, KY. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Mike on December 26, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents Victor and Mary, and a sister, Patsy (Freeman) Weirick. Services are scheduled for Wednesday April 18, 2012 at 11:00 am at McHatton – Sadler Funeral Chapel. Visitation hours will be from 2:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw, IN. McHatton – Sadler Funeral Chapel is in charge of services. Donations may be made in honor of Barbara to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital 2211 N. Oak Park Ave Chicago, IL 60707 envelopes are available at McHatton – Sadler.
